2017 Chain Reaction Reading Challenge

chain-reaction Yesss! Another reading challenge!

My awesome friend, Payton, created this new reading challenge. I am jumping on this train! If you’re not following her blog yet, you need to be! No joke. She is one super cool woman!!!

Alright. So about this challenge. Basically, the idea is about having a book chain reaction! As always, check out her post for more information. It is a unique idea, and I’m so glad to be a part of this.

My goal will be to get 10 links in my chain. If I make the 10 fairly quickly, or even before half the year is over, I’ll move my goal up. But with the stipulations in this challenge, it is going to require some thought. So we’ll see.

The works:

  • It’ll run January 1 – December 31, 2017.
  • Crossover accepted.
  • Color the new word in the chain, and underline the previous word in the chain.
  • You can replace the first link with a book prior, as long as one of the words match.

Here’s an example:

  1. The Scent of Salt and Sand
  2. Salt to the Sea
  3. Blood and Salt
  4. Blood Moon
  5. Moon Chosen

So you get the gist, right? Payton does mention it is ok to use the same link twice. Salt was for the first book, then Salt for the second, and to create the link to the third one Salt is used but then Blood becomes the next word. I’m liking where this is going!

Just be careful. The shorter the title, the fewer words you have available.

To show a replacement in the first link, follow my own example below (just adding to Payton’s).

  1. House of Sand and Fog
  2. The Scent of Salt and Sand
  3. Salt to the Sea
    — and so on.

You can track my progress on my Challenges page.
